ARCHIVED DISCOVERY ENGAGEMENT — 2020
This was a paid discovery engagement completed in 2020 for a confidential client in the moving industry. ADS delivered a business analysis, a full technical proposal with hour-by-hour scope breakdown, and a clickable prototype covering all core user flows. The full development phase — 10 milestones, 89 working days — was scoped and costed. Client funding did not materialize for the build. Client and product names are withheld by agreement. This page is a portfolio record of the discovery work delivered.
A complete iOS, Android, and web admin platform for the moving industry — fully analyzed, technically specified, and prototyped. The build was scoped and ready. Funding did not follow.

Client details are withheld by agreement. A moving industry startup commissioned ADS to analyze, scope, and prototype a mobile platform that would give customers real visibility and control over their move — from inventory labeling at the origin to item-by-item verification at the destination. ADS delivered the full discovery package: business analysis, technical proposal, and a clickable prototype.
Moving companies operate with almost no real-time accountability. Customers hand over their belongings and hope everything arrives. Items go missing. Trucks run late with no visibility. Movers are unreachable. The platform was designed to close that gap entirely — QR-coded inventory at origin, GPS tracking en route, mover communication in-app, and item-by-item scan verification at delivery.
Customers generate branded QR-code labels from the app and physically attach them to every box or large item. Items are scanned to build a digital inventory before the truck loads. On arrival, the customer re-scans each item to verify everything made it. Duplicate scan alerts flag anything counted twice.
The moving truck broadcasts its GPS location throughout the journey. The view starts at state level, then automatically zooms to street detail within a configurable radius of the destination. Customers share live tracking with up to 5 contacts, so family or friends can be on-site at arrival.
The customer app handles credit purchases, move creation, mover invitations, inventory history, and revoke access. The mover app is a lightweight companion: GPS broadcast to the customer, click-to-call/text, and driver handoff — allowing a move to transfer between drivers mid-route without losing tracking.
A full web-based admin portal covering the moves database, customer records, order management, move and user settings, and admin user creation. A branded WordPress business website was also included in scope to support the moving company’s public presence alongside the app launch.
Phase 1, 2, and 3 requirements mapped across three user types. Business model documented including app pricing, App Store fee structures, and revenue flow.
22-page technical proposal with 1,156-hour work breakdown across 10 milestones, tech stack, AWS server architecture, security specs, and full payment terms.
Adobe XD interactive prototype covering all core user flows for the customer app and mover companion, including onboarding, move creation, label scanning, and GPS tracking screens.
All discovery deliverables were completed and handed off. The full build was costed and ready. Client funding did not materialize for the development phase. Project archived at discovery.
Before a dollar goes into development, the right discovery process eliminates wasted spend. We’ve mapped out complex multi-platform apps, admin systems, and logistics tools — and we’ll tell you honestly what it takes before you commit to building it.
