CLIENT CASE STUDY
A Living Museum for Milwaukee's LGBT Heritage
Brice, a Milwaukee historian and lifelong community advocate, had a vision: to make the city’s LGBT history accessible, engaging, and enduring. Accurate Digital Solutions turned that vision into a cross-platform digital experience spanning mobile, web, and interactive maps.

THE CLIENT
A historian with a mission to preserve what history risks forgetting.
Brice, a passionate historian and lifelong Milwaukee resident, founded LGBT milWALKee to document and share the stories, landmarks, and people that shaped the city’s LGBT community. The initiative aimed to create a living, growing digital record — accessible to locals, tourists, and future generations alike.
THE CHALLENGE
Fusing storytelling, mapping, and accessibility into one platform.
The project required merging complex mapping integrations (Google Maps and Apple Maps) with rich multimedia content across both mobile and web. The platform needed to be scalable, fully accessible with closed captioning on all video content, and easy for a small team to manage without technical expertise.
FIG. 01 — SCOPE OF WORK
From idea to interactive experience.
Accurate Digital Solutions led design and development end-to-end — building the mobile apps, the content management system, and the full web experience.
01
Cross-platform mobile app
Built with Flutter for simultaneous iOS and Android deployment — delivering a consistent, high-quality experience without maintaining two separate codebases.
02
Interactive map & POI system
Integrated Google Maps and Apple Maps with a custom Points of Interest (POI) engine, linking landmarks to multimedia stories, photos, and historical context.
03
Closed captioning for all video
Every video in the platform was captioned — ensuring the experience was fully accessible and inclusive from day one, not as an afterthought.
04
POI management web interface
Gave Brice’s team a user-friendly web dashboard to add, edit, and publish new locations and stories without needing developer support.
FIG. 02 — RESULTS & IMPACT
History, preserved. Community, celebrated.
A living digital museum
LGBT milWALKee became more than a map — a growing archive of Milwaukee’s LGBT heritage, blending location-based storytelling with multimedia and community memory.
Inclusive by design
Closed captions, mobile-first UX, and accessible navigation made cultural education available to the widest possible audience, regardless of ability or device.
Scalable for growth
The platform’s architecture was designed to absorb new POIs, stories, and features over time — built to grow with the mission, not limit it.
Community-driven storytelling
Brice and his team were empowered to manage and expand the platform independently, keeping the voice of the project authentic and community-led.
Though the project is no longer publicly available following a loss of funding, LGBT milWALKee stands as a testament to what’s possible when technology, storytelling, and community pride come together with intention.
